Zhujiajiao Ancient Town Scenic Area

Located in Qingpu District of Shanghai, Zhujiajiao Ancient Town is close to the Dianshan Lake Scenic Area. It is a typical ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River. The waterways in the streets and lanes are very elegant. The town has scenic spots such as garden monuments, as well as many traditional snacks and petty bourgeois shops. It is the first choice for exploring the ancient towns around Shanghai.

After entering the ancient town from the south entrance and exit, you will first come to the Zhuxi Garden and the Humanities Art Museum. Zhuxi Garden is a small and exquisite garden and the Humanities Art Museum is a modern building that records the local history and culture of Zhujiajiao in the form of oil paintings and sculptures.

After the art museum you’ll come across North Avenue, the bustling snack street that is packed with snack shops selling everything from dumplings to pastries.

Continue strolling and you’ll find many of the classic traditional bridges the area is famed for along with many other famous ancient buildings.

It’s a superb place to stroll and spend a leisurely afternoon and admire ancient slow-paced and beautiful ways of life.
