People’s Square

People’s Square is a veritable landmark in Shanghai, and the Municipal Building, the Shanghai Grand Theatre, the Shanghai Museum, and the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street are all gathered around the large square and located opposite is People’s Park. During the day, you can feed pigeons in the square, visit the Hong Kong Famous Shops Street, and splash in the fountain at night.

People’s Square is a green area that is not too big, but the trees are lush and there are thousands of pigeons. When you are tired, you can rest on the bench and feed the pigeons. In the center of the square is a fountain which puts on a display every night under the illumination of various colors.

Underneath People’s Square is the Hong Kong Famous Shops Street and Dimei Shopping Center. It sells a variety of trendy clothing and accessories, as well as fashion shops such as nail shops and dessert shops. The entrance is in the northeast and southwest of the square and is connected to the subway station.

Near the subway entrance No. 2, there is an old Shanghai 1930 style street, which shows the appearance of the Shanghai listing in the 1930s. It is part of the urban planning exhibition hall.

People’s Square is the transportation hub of the city center. There are dozens of bus lines on the east of Tibet Road and the south of Wusheng Road. Metro Lines 1, 2 and 8 pass through here and exits No. 1, No. 2, located at the northeast corner of the square.
