Shanghai Zoo

Shanghai Zoo is adjacent to Hongqiao Airport, formerly known as Xijiao Park, it is a fond memory of many old Shanghainese. The zoo features many rare animals such as pandas, elk, golden monkeys, and northeast tigers, as well as giraffes, kangaroos, and penguins. Children can also feed small animals by themselves or go to the science and education hall to learn about animals. It is also a good choice to play in the sun on the big lawn, rowing, and riding the Ferris wheel.

There are more than 600 kinds of animals in Shanghai Zoo. In addition to various animal exhibition areas such as amphibians and reptiles, herbivores, beasts, and birds, as well as exhibition halls such as science and education halls, fishponds and butterfly museums, there are also natural habitats such as Swan Lake with birds, swans, pelicans, and other birds.

The whole garden is full of flowers and leaves, the environment is elegant, and there are small rivers flowing through them. Walking in the garden can feel the rare natural ecological atmosphere in the metropolis.

The zoo is divided into 5 exhibition areas: Primates, Herbivores, Carnivores, Birds, and Amphibians. Highlights are the Golden Monkeys, Giant Panda’s, the three kinds of lions and tigers, and the bird zone.
